Projects

Themed Projects on the Programme - A note from Peter
I have been looking at other clubs programmes and quite a few of them are running projects whereby their members take photographs in line with several themes each year and then there is an evening on the programme when members show their images and talk about them. The whole idea behind this is to encourage photography. We will have some presenters who will be talking about their images in line with these themes and there will be club outings which will tie in with them as well.

When we have the club evenings members can show prints or digital images, the pictures do not have to be taken on a club event, You can take them by yourself and they can be of any age so you can dig out old photographs to show us.

So get going now and here are six themes to work to.

Landscapes and Seascapes

A very broad theme which could include pictures taken on your holidays or even on your doorstep. Just a short walk or drive from your home you can go out into the countryside and look for opportunities.

People

Another broad theme. This could include members of your family or candids/street photography or pictures taken at events.

Urban Landscapes/ Industrial

Plenty of choices here. We live near to Bristol & Bath and there are some old industrial sites to explore as well.

Close Up/ Macro Nature Wednesday 16th July 2025

Bugs and insects and flowers maybe in your garden or visiting a nature reserve or tourist attraction.

Interiors Wednesday 24th September 2025

This can be an historic house which allows photography or a church or your own home.

Vintage/Traditions Wednesday 14th 2026

Anything old (not just the members) such as a steam fair, heritage railway or a country event such as a folk festival or country farming show.

These project evenings will be in the new programme from May 2025 so you have plenty of notice.'
